Domain price reduced by 20% in 2014.
The Supervisory Board of the Estonian Internet Foundation has decided to reduce the price of a .ee domain by 20%, i.e. to €12.
The price of registering a .ee domain in 2014 will be €12, €23 or €33 depending on the length of the registration period. .ee domains can be registered for one, two or three years.
The change will become effective on January 1, 2014.
71,070 .ee domains are currently registered.
The domain price is the fee charged by the Estonian Internet Foundation from registrars, i.e. companies providing the domain registration service. The prices for end-users or registrants will be determined in competition on the free market. VAT will be added to the fees.

What Happens to .ee Domains When a Company Closes?
The Estonian Internet Foundation (EIF) works hard to keep the .ee domain registry accurate and up to date. One way we do this is by checking if the Estonian companies that own .ee domains are still active. If a company has been shut down, we try to transfer the domain to someone who still uses it—or we may delete it so someone else can register it.
