eeID Introduces New Pricing and Updates to Strengthen Digital Identity Verification
eeID: strong identity verification solutions on one platform
Strong identity verification has long been the real secret behind the cleanliness and quality of the .ee zone. Thanks to this, .ee is one of the safest domain spaces in Europe. To make this capability available not only to businesses connected to the domain industry, but also to service providers more broadly, we launched the eeID service.
eeID has now received several important updates. The service now comes with a new transaction-based pricing model, updated terms of use, and revised data protection terms. These changes make the service clearer, more flexible, and more affordable to use.
The eeID service continues to be priced according to actual usage, meaning that instead of paying a fixed monthly fee, companies only pay for completed transactions. The new eeID pricing is as follows:
- eeID passkey authentication = €0.01
- Authentication with an electronic identity document (such as ID-card, Mobile-ID, Smart-ID, etc.) = €0.08
- Identification with a document = €0.10
As a result, strong identity verification is now more accessible than before for small and medium-sized businesses whose authentication volumes may be modest, but for whom security remains business-critical.
Why choose the eeID service?
From a cybersecurity perspective, strong identity verification is becoming increasingly important. Cyber fraud, identity theft, and account takeovers have become everyday threats. Password-based logins or solutions based on social media accounts may feel familiar to users, but they do not always provide businesses with enough certainty about who is actually using the service. Weak authentication can open the door to malicious activity, data leaks, fraud, and reputational damage.
eeID helps reduce these risks by enabling strong user identification and increasing trust from both the company’s and the customer’s point of view.
Multiple identity verification methods through one integration
eeID brings together several national and international authentication solutions on one platform. Through the service, businesses can use Estonian ID-card, Mobile-ID, Smart-ID, and Smart-ID+, as well as eIDAS, Latvian and Lithuanian solutions, Belgium’s CSAM, Czech MojeID, Portugal’s Autenticação.gov, and Sweden’s Freja+ service. Veriff and FIDO-based authentication add a further international layer.
This means companies no longer need to integrate separately with every new authentication provider. eeID creates one central access point. Globally capable identity verification and authentication becomes available through a single integration.
Strong authentication is no longer only for large organisations
Strong identity verification should not be reserved only for large organisations. In today’s digital environment, smaller businesses, startups, software providers, and e-service developers need it as well. The new eeID updates make the service simpler, more flexible, and more affordable.
The eeID service helps organisations better protect users, data, and their own digital trustworthiness. That is exactly why strong identity verification is no longer just a technical add-on, but an essential part of modern cybersecurity.
