The country code top-level domain is on a continuous upward trend, with the register now containing more than 140,000 .ee addresses

The number of domains deleted from the register is also significantly lower – while 4869 domains were deleted from the register in 2020, then a total of 4168 were removed this year, which makes -14% in comparison with the previous year. With numbers that are positive both ways, we have now reached 140,000 .ee addresses.

The Estonian Internet Foundation (EIF) works hard to keep the .ee domain registry accurate and up to date. One way we do this is by checking if the Estonian companies that own .ee domains are still active. If a company has been shut down, we try to transfer the domain to someone who still uses it—or we may delete it so someone else can register it.
