.EE Reaches New Milestone with 200,000 Registered Domains
The title of the 200,000th .ee domain belongs to the online store naistekleidid.ee. This milestone has been driven by strong growth in recent years: while the 100,000 .ee domain mark was reached in 2015, more than 34,000 new names were added in 2025 alone. The national domain has also established a strong presence beyond Estonia, with international registrants now accounting for one fifth of all registrations. The renewal rate stands at 84%.
Domain registration activity also reflects growing momentum in the local business landscape, as domains are primarily used for business-related purposes. Registrations from the past year reveal that local entrepreneurs have been quick to adopt trends related to AI and new technologies. They are also actively offering products and services connected to cars, home, and construction. By contrast, keywords related to energy, sustainability, and education are used less frequently.
The longest .ee domain name contains 63 characters, while the average domain length is 8.95 characters. Most domain owners belong to the 35–39 age group, followed by those aged 40–44 and 45–49. The youngest owner of a national domain was born in 2024, while the oldest was born in 1930 and is therefore 95 years old. This clearly shows that protecting one’s digital identity offers practical value not only to businesses and brands, but also to private individuals of all ages.
Typically, one user registers one domain name. Just over 10% own two domains, while 4.6% own three. According to .ee registry data, the user with the largest portfolio owns more than 2,900 .ee domains.

Three Meetings, One Message: DNS Abuse Is Reshaping the Domain Industry
The past few weeks brought three important international meetings that looked at the domain industry from different angles, yet reached many of the same conclusions. CENTR Jamboree brought together European top-level domain registries, Nordic Domain Days focused on practical solutions alongside industry experts, and ICANN83 discussed global internet governance and policy development. One topic stood out most clearly across all three events: DNS abuse and the question of what role registries should play in ensuring internet security.

When Meta goes down, your business should not disappear with it
Last Friday's Meta outage was short, but it was a useful warning for every business that depends too heavily on social platforms. On June 12, Facebook and Instagram experienced service disruptions, in addition problems with Ads Manager tools as well. For some brands, that meant reduced visibility, interrupted campaigns, delayed communication: a reminder that they do not actually control the platforms where much of their audience lives.
