Estonian Internet Foundation (EIF) has developed proposed amendments to the .ee domain rules, driven by the objectives set out in the 2025–2027 EIF strategy. These changes are intended to help develop registry services that better meet the expectations of the community. We are now also inviting feedback on these proposals from the community.

This year's Nordic Domain Days brought together registries, registrars, investors, service providers, and policy and technology people from across the domain industry in Stockholm. The conversations and presentations kept circling back to the same idea: domain names aren't becoming less important - they're becoming less visible, more automated, and increasingly entangled with trust, data quality, cybersecurity, and AI.

Estonia’s national domain has reached a major milestone: the number of registered .ee domains has surpassed 200,000 for the first time. This also shows that .ee is one of the fastest-growing country code domains in Europe. The achievement further reinforces Estonia’s position as a digital society, where a domain name and the website connected to it are important parts of digital identity.
