.ee is the gateway to Estonia!

Estonian Internet Foundation (EIF) has developed proposed amendments to the .ee domain rules, driven by the objectives set out in the 2025–2027 EIF strategy. These changes are intended to help develop registry services that better meet the expectations of the community. We are now also inviting feedback on these proposals from the community.

Authentication is usually taken for granted and, in many ways, almost invisible: the user chooses a suitable authentication method, verifies their identity, and continues using the service. But what happens when the authentication service itself stops working?

Companies are getting better at guarding the front door of their digital services: multi-factor authentication is standard, passkeys are going mainstream, an passwordless login is realistic for ordinary users now. But attackers don't need the front door.
